Contributions play a major role in helping our students remain
competitive nationwide. The following are activities that are
beyond the capability of our state-appropriated budget.
In the past we have sought funds for:
- A design-build studio offered by a seasoned practitioner to
senior level students and above ($10,000 per year)
- Additions to our library and special collections ($25,000 per
year)
- Faculty development and projects of excellence ($50,000 per
year)
- Annual publication of student work ($8,000 per year)
We have added the following to our wish list in the past
year:
- A rapid prototyping laboratory to explore the fabrication of
designs using digital technologies ($200,000)
- Expanding our semester abroad program to locations other than
Barcelona, Spain
($45,000 a year per location)
- A staffed Materials Library for tangible interaction with
building materials ($54,000)
- Operating expenses for our Center for Community Planning and
Design ($150,000 per year)
On-line donations are taken through the NDSU Development Foundation.
(Please note: Donations given to the College of Engineering and
Architecture go to the Dean and are distributed as he sees fit
throughout the college. Donations specified to the Friends of
Architecture or the Friends of Landscape Architecture will directly
benefit the department.)
